OBJECTIVES |
Improving Appropriate Antibiotic Prescribing
for Acute Respiratory Infections is a free, interactive
case-based on-line learning experience that will enhance
your ability to:
- Describe four consequences of the overuse of
antibiotics for acute respiratory infections
- Apply the principles of appropriate antibiotic use
for treatment of acute bronchitis, acute sinusitis,
pharyngitis and acute otitis media
- Develop practical strategies to adopt appropriate
antibiotic use within your practice.

INSTRUCTIONS
|
You may choose to take the course for credit
(CME, CNE, or AAFP).
The course has six sections. You
must complete each section. Within each section, however,
you may choose to complete the pediatric case, adult case
or both.
To take the course:
- Register with TRAIN, the distance-learning resource
for public health. (If you have already registered with
TRAIN, you can just sign on at the Member Login and
proceed to Step 2).
- Go to
TRAIN (not part
of the Get Smart Colorado Web site).
- From the left column, click
"Create Account."
- Follow the instructions to create your
TRAIN account.
- Select the course, Improving Appropriate Antibiotic
Use for Acute Respiratory Infections.
- Select "Course Search" from the buttons at the top
of the page or select "By Course ID." Enter
1015038 to take the course.
- Select the "Registration" tab.
- Select your credit type and organization (or no
credit).
- Click "Launch" to start the course.

accreditation begins 10/31/08. Term of approval is for
two-years from this date, with the option for yearly

Pharmacy is accredited

Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a
provider of
continuing pharmacy education. This application-based
program has
been accredited for 1 contact hour (0.1 CEU) and assigned
the ACPE

participants
must complete the evaluation and receive a score of at least
70% on the
post-test. CE statements of credit will be mailed within 6
